We all know about continued concerns related to misconduct in research. And if we go back in just very recent times several cases of plagiarism or falsification of research result published in the press stick to our minds. I would like to report to you about interesting approaches to set up a code of conduct in research. I got aware of these approaches by listeing at speeches of research managers from universities in the US, Australia and Canada. The lack of transparency in reporting by the research funders, universities and other research producers is not yet sufficiently addresses in Europe. But I found these first approaches from abroad very interesting and valuable and therefore share with you in brief the fundamental principles of research integrity presented by a Canadian speaker at the INORMS conference in Copenhagen 2012. I am keen to hear about your opinion and would like to stress the fact, that this conduct has been set up with respect to researchers to go to work in these areas having not the same value background like the locals (e.g. coming from EuropeJ). Anyway and anyhow: I will by now integrate these 11 points in our career planning workshops for young researchers.
