H2020 kleinOn 12 September 2014 the Federal Administration informed that Switzerland has now the status of an Associate Country (AC) under the first pillar.

This partial association allows researchers in Switzerland to again participate as associated and equally entitled partners in all activities under the first pillar of Horizon 2020, comprising ERC grants, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) and research infrastructures, from September 15, 2014.

EUresearch recently reported on the success story of the Swiss Centre for Applied Human Toxicology (SCAHT). With the support of EUrelations AG the centre submitted their project proposal for HEROIC (Health and Environmental Risks: Organisation, Integration and Cross-fertilisation of Scientific Knowledge). The project was funded by the FP7 framework.

The first International Conference on Research Funding was held on 12 and 13 June 2009 in Zurich. This two-day event was a great success! It was organized with the intention to inform the research community and high-tech and manufacturing SMEs about "Where to acquire and how to deal with funds?" The first day gave visitors an overview of the largest funding opportunities for research ("Where to get funds/grants for R&D?”). On the second day, specific workshops were held on various topics associated with research funding ("How to deal with funds?").
