National funding
The most important Swiss institution for research funding is the Swiss National Science Foundation. On behalf of the Federation it supports all disciplines - from philosophy and biology to nanosciences and medicine. The funding programmes are open to all scientists active in
For the targeted research, the federal government has additionnally set up two coordinated research programmes. The National Research Programmes (NRP) and the National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCR) promote fixed-term projects with clearly defined objectives. Regularly, the federal government publishes calls for which researchers can apply with a project proposal.
The other important funding initiative is the Innovation Promotion Agency CTI. It supports the knowledge and technology transfer between companies and universities. It builds bridges between theory and practice and promotes the development of start-ups.
In addition, there are some other funding opportunities. But getting an overview of all initiatives needs certain know-how and several years of experience in the field of research funding. We would like to help you to get an overview of the national research funding opportunities and to support you in participating in a national R&D programme.

"I have known and worked with EUrelations team in the frames of our effort for the preparation of the HEROIC FP7 project proposal under very limited time. I have found them to be dependable and of great help in getting our work done in a very effective, inspiring and smooth way. Apart from the administrative and financial support their input was highly appreciated in the scientific part as well. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone who is engaged in the life sciences, biomedical research, and other areas of advanced science and technology.
EUrelations not only helps produce a high quality proposal but also provides important advice and insight into how the scientific part of the proposal would be organized.
I believe that EUrelations is well positioned to provide a wide and important contribution to our scientific fields and related activities."
