Das Forschungsprojekt CONCO hat sich der Erforschung der Conusschnecke verschrieben. Die Kegelschnecke, die mit ihrem Gift ihre Beute erlegt, soll in Zukunft Schmerzen lindern oder gar Krankheiten bekämpfen können.
Um dieses ehrgeizige Ziel zu erreichen, ist eine Forschergruppe, welche von der Europäischen Union innerhalb des 6. Rahmenprogramm für Forschung und Entwicklung (FP6) finanziert wird, dabei, den genetischen Fingerabdruck von Conus Consors zu erstellen. Ein faszinierendes Projekt zwischen Meeresboden und Labor das aus Giften Heilmittel machen soll. Mittendrin: eurelations AG, die der koordinierenden KMU Atheris Laboratories beim Management des 12 Millionen Euro Projekts zur Seite steht.

A substantial part of EU research funding flows to Switzerland - Switzerland among the top ranked countries

Swiss researcher have secured a nice portion of European research funding. They participate in about 400 projects within the 7th Framework Programme of the EU and received a total funding of 236,2 Millions Swiss Francs.
(sda) The funding received by Swiss researchers is equal to 3.8 percent of the total budget of the EU Programme. Swiss participants are particularly active in the field of Information- and Communication Technologies, as announced on Friday by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education and Research (SER). 40 percent of all research in the EU concern this field.
For Academic and Private Institutions
Every fifth project deals with health-related issues (21 percent) and every tenth project belongs to the domain of basic research (11 percent). Swiss researchers are also strongly involved in the "People" programme dealing with the mobility of researchers (9 percent). According to the SER, the SMEs receive more EU funding than does the large industry. In total, 26 percent of the EU funding are received by the private sector. The most important beneficiaries of EU funding from the 7th Framework Programme are the two federal institutes of technology (ETH Zurich and EPF Lausanne, 33 percent). They are followed by the universities (30 percent). Summing up, the SER states that, taking into account the number of participations, the number of coordinated projects and the amount of received funding, Switzerland belongs to the top ten countries. In addition, only Belgium, the Netherlands and France have higher success rates than Switzerland.

In 2009, eurelations was contracted by the association ManuFuture-CH to offer its services to the members of ManuFuture-CH.
