New funds for cancer research
The ERA-NET on Translational Cancer Research (TRANSCAN) was established to coordinate research efforts and funding programmes of European countries in translational cancer research. In December new calls will be published under the topic: „Validation of biomarkers for personalised cancer medicine“.
Learn at first hand

Where can I get an overview of different funding instruments? How do I write a proposal for a European project? What is important in project management? These are just a few of the questions that are asked again and again by researchers – and which we are replying to in our courses.

The Transition Weavers - from research to industry
A team of trainers, psychologists and coaches have joined forces to create a network in Zürich, “The Transition Weavers“, which will enable students and scientists to make smoother, less stressful transitions from academia to industry, as well as career transitions within both academia and industry. The Transition Weavers Network offers a broad palette of services ranging from one-on-one coaching to specialized training courses.
Students, doctoral students, and research scientists need specific skills and know-how in order to either make it to the next level in their academic careers or to make the transition to a career outside academia. They need to: develop awareness of their strengths and weaknesses, their values, needs and preferences, learn how to market both themselves and their research, write C.V.s for specific types of jobs, balance their work and private lives, learn how to build a professional network, manage stressful situations and heavy workloads, apply for jobs, write research papers, develop a poised, and professional self-presentation style, hold presentations at conferences, write grants and learn to design and to manage research projects.

OpenAIRE enables public access to scientific publications
Worldwide currently 2.5 million scientific publications are published each year. This corresponds to an immense knowledge and precious contents on which further research can be established. But unfortunately just a fraction of these articles is available in Open Access repositories or journals. A lot of databases request payment to read the articles.

Are you looking for an NMR-facility? EAST-NMR offers the solution
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) technologies are becoming more and more important in European research, because they are the key to understand the three-dimensional structure of biomolecules. But what are you going to do, if you do not have such an NMR-spectrometer in your lab?
The European project EAST-NMR offers the solution. It is providing access to NMR-facilities based in Eastern Europe. Carry out your experiments in a research laboratory in the Slovak Republic, Hungary, the Czech Republic or Poland and connect with experienced researchers within the NMR network.

Are you ready for a European research project?

The big world of European Research: Each year, the European Commission supports thousands of research projects with several billion euros. This represents a huge funding opportunity almost everybody is interested in. But it is, especially for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), not easy to get such funds. A lot of companies are not sure if they are really ready and if they are sufficiently experienced to cooperate in European research projects with excellent researchers.
Because it is clear: Without any experiences it will be difficult to benefit from a project. So, what are the requirements? How does a company have to be, to fit in such collaborations?
