ERICENA“The European Research and Innovation Centre of Excellence in China (ERICENA) will connect European researchers and entrepreneurs by organising conferences and networking events with China and offering services to expand European organizations to China. It is built by a consortium of 13 European and Chinese partners and a network of 128 partners that act as regional innovation centres, The first action will be a matchmaking tour in Beijing, Chengdu and Qingdao from the 24th-31st of October. Leading technology-based companies and research institutes, as well as innovators, will be visited and opportunities for business initiation will be offered. The entry to the EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair in Chengdu and Qingdao, one of the largest platforms for EU-China investments as well as trade and technology cooperation, is included.


The event is aimed at

VNLOur Associate VNL (Verein Netzwerk Logistik) was holding the third annual Logistics Innovation Day (LID) to the topic ”With Digitalisation to New Services”.


Different keynotes were providing inputs on the creative implementation of digitalisation strategies in logistics and supply chain management. Customer service and value has been emphasized at this year’s event, while the process and cost optimization were secondary. The keynotes provided valuable insight into the different challenges and opportunities digitalisation holds for the logistics industry. The participants of the afternoon workshop developed creative solutions for current challenges in the logistics. This year’s event was followed by the Logistics Hall of Fame, which took in the evening. Former Swiss Federal councillor Adolf Ogi and Rudolf Haldimann were receiving the lifetime achievement award from the Foundation Logistics Switzerland.

The European Commission is funding the establishment of three European Research and Innovation Centres through the Horizon 2020 Programme in Brazil (CEBRABIC), in China (ERICENA) and in the United States (NearUS).

These Centres will provide a comprehensive and diverse range of services to support and facilitate collaboration in the areas of research, innovation and business for their customers – including European research and technology organisations, universities, national and regional funding organisations, national and regional authorities, research infrastructures and networks, SMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurs.

The aim of this survey is to gain a better understanding of the needs of prospective European customers and ecosystem stakeholders when collaborating or partnering with research, innovation and business support organisations from Brazil, China and/or the United States. ERICENA (European Research and Innovation Centre of Excellence in ChiNA), a 48 month initiative implemented by 7 European and 6 Chinese partners, proposes to set up a Centre and its networks in China to promote European STI (Science, Technology & Innovation) interests in China, creating synergies with existing STI structures. ERICENA will connect and support European researchers, entrepreneurs, other STI stakeholders, while providing and facilitating provision of STI services (e.g. networking, advice and support, training, among others) to private and public clients.

We will present the project plan and collect your statements and wishes on how to even better connect the Swiss to the Chinese STI community.
