MODULE 2: Proposal Writing

Writing Successful Research Proposals (National & EU HorizonEurope)

  • 4,000 Swiss francs
  • On site at client (university building)

Service Description

Researchers are supposed to write research proposals to acquire funding for their research ideas and their team. But to successfully obtain these third-party funds it is essential to have an all-around convincing project proposal, which exposes the own research idea in a keen manner. The participants will screen for the specific requirements on research funding organisations (RFO) webpages, compose their own proposal and understand the basics of communication and how to improve. They then step-by-step and start to write specific parts of their research proposal: the research plan, the impact chapter, the implementation, the career plan, the budget, the ethics, the gender aspects and other parts requested by the RFO or the participants intend to address (motivation letter). They will furthermore discuss how we. scientists, communicate and how our messages are transported effectively to evaluation committees and the world outside of academia. This includes the presentation of the research group and CVs. To distinguish proposal writing from scientific (paper) writing is of key importance and therefore, elements in common and differences will be elaborated. In case your university offers scientific writing courses, this course is an ideal add on. We do not investigate in funding opportunities in this course. Therefore first to understand the funding landscape MODULE 1 (Funding for Science & Innovation) and combine it with this MODULE 2 suits scientist best.
